Senseless Murder

Vain Jangling
To silence a life.

In the last few days, the news has publicized the senseless murder of two individuals. One seems very much targeted, while one appears to be random. However, the life of the unknown has no less value that the life of the known. How does one get to the point of having no conscience for silencing someone in such a way? It is mere vain jangling for anyone to try to justify or make excuse for either incident. It is evil, it is depravity, it is sin.

The life of the one has been silenced. Their hopes, their plans, their dreams, lost in a moment of demonic episode. The voice of the other has been silenced. Their family, their followers, the world no longer able to hear their thoughts spoken. Families are left with loss, sorrow, hurt—while some laugh, cheer, and praise such wickedness. Many sit and ponder the hate spewed from the television, internet, campuses, churches, and fear for the world our children and grandchildren will grow up in.

If we are afraid to stand for truth, love our neighbor, and live for God—it’s mere vain jangling to say we care. It has been said that they were the nice ones. Little do those who devise evil know, judgment is coming and none shall escape Him.
